[ Pain & Pain Management ] Open Question : Could the pain in my neck be causing problems with my Vagus Nerve which in turn is causing Esophageal spasms?

I have been suffering from chronic chest pain for almost 2 years. After ruling out any problems with my heart and undergoing test after test my doctor is pretty comfortable with the diagnosis of esophageal spasms. I can go for months without one, but then they will start up and last for a day or two or weeks. I am now realizing that every time I have a “flare” up I also have trouble with terrible pain in my neck. Trips to the Chiropractor do not help. This last flare up has lasted 3 weeks with terrible neck pain and spasms almost every morning. The neck pain is at the base of my skull. I have been dizzy at times as well. I have had x-rays of my neck and they were normal. Am I just grasping at straws or could my neck pain and spasms be related?
